Spring finally seems to be staying in New England, and it's time to get Trinity's tomato garden ready. These past seasons we have been focusing on improving our garden soil, and this year we have made a lot of progress. We have opened up our compost bin to the community, and our East Arlington neighbors, and especially one caterer, have been taking advantage of this.
Our compost isn't completely finished, but was broken down enough to be spread onto the garden plot.
We also added three bags of composted cow manure. (This blogger's father, after a childhood of shoveling cow manure, was always amazed that later in life he was paying for a bag.)
This year we rented a bigger tiller to get all that goodness down deep into the soil.
