Trinity is delighted that the Rev. Karina Fontanez has accepted the call to serve as the church’s settled pastor.

Rev. Karina (as she likes to be called) was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Her family moved to Lowell, Massachusetts in 1980. She is a graduate of Greater Lowell Technical High School and Lasell College with a degree in fashion design.

While in high school Karina remained active in her congregation, Peniel Spanish Assemblies of God Church in Lowell, MA. Karina preached her first sermon at the age of 19 while serving in youth ministry.

In February of 2008, Rev. Karina answered her call to ministry and applied to seminary.  She graduated from Andover Newton Theological School in 2014 with Master of Divinity degree and a certificate in pastoral care and counseling and was ordained in 2017. She has served as associate pastor to youth and young adult at Community Baptist Church in Somerville, Christian- education coordinator and assistant to the pastor at First Baptist Church of Framingham, and Pastor of crisis counseling and intervention at Zion Baptist Church in Lynn.

In addition to this pastoral role, Rev.  Karina enjoys the title of daughter, sister, cousin, mother, aunt, and friend. She loves spending time with her loved ones, watching a good movie, and enjoying some good music.
